GTD (Getting Things Done) Method adaptation to manage tasks required to create my Flash videogame engine.
Goal:
1.- Store tasks and activies in organized lists as soon as you identify them.
2.- Put rules in place to accomplish organized tasks
How To: 5 phases
1.- Collect: (To capture) Record any idea, reference, task or piece of information I must study or review in an Inbox list.
2.- Process (To clarify): Process inbox items into the system.
- 2.A.- Actionable: Do immediate things (during the same Process session) / Delegate it (outsource or use 3rd party resources) / Defer it (first, define outcomes and check if it have more than one step)
- 2.B.- No action required: Trash it / File it / Later action
3.- Organize: Keep items in different lists
- Without Actions: RecycleBin (NoUse: trash it), FileAway (for reference: file it), Tickler (Someday-maybes, Ideas: incubate it)
- With Actions: Projects (complex tasks), Waiting For(depends on others), Calendar (specific day-time todo tasks), Next Actions (specific contextual tasks)
4.- Review (To think about): Looking at the lists and determine tasks movement between lists
- Projects lists: Expand in Next Action items
- Idea Lists: Expand in Project and Next Action items
5.- Do: Execute Action List, selecting method based in criteria
- Criteria: context, time available, energy available and priority
- Method 1
- Method 2
- Method 3
